MEAN VENUS is proud to announce brand new lineup...

Lead singer/songwiter, J, of the heavy rock band--MEAN VENUS--has issued the following announcement: "MEAN VENUS has undergone some recent lineup changes and
is really happy to announce the return of our original guitarist, Marcelo Cardosa, whose playing appears all over our debut album. He has been sorely missed and we are proud to welcome him back on board!
We have also added Adrian Freyre and Russ Ippoliti formerly of the band Trimm. The MEAN VENUS camp had admired these guys from afar for quite some time and is really just amazed to have them in MEAN VENUS now. Last but not least,
we now have Chigger on bass who is an amazing guy and player and who has played in Smoke Star and Hostel Inc." The new lineup has some big shows lined up throughout the end of the summer and into the fall of '09 including August 2nd @ Crocodile Rock
in Allentown, NJ with RATT and EXTREME. The guys will continue to tour in support of their debut release--PCP--and the forthcoming album--CRAZY ASS AMERICAN. Check out http://meanvenus.com for tour dates, cd and merch sales,
	pics, and all other news.

MEAN VENUS: On a Mission

You've got to realize that straight-up hard rock is going to make a big resurgence. It is inevitable. What is most fascinating is that it hasn't happened yet. We're not talking about hairspray and spandex here. We're talking about a continuation of the great rock and roll lineage that began back with the Beatles and the Stones. That continued and developed with the likes of Cream, Jimi Hendrix and the Doors. We're talking about the torch that was passed to Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith and then to GNR and that was ultimately left near extinguished after the last great era of true, authentic rock and roll that gave us Nirvana, STP, Alice in Chains and their ilk. Well never fear: It is MEAN VENUS' personal mission to make sure the resurgence happens. The boys are tired of waiting around for someone else to do it and a new generation needs to know how great rock and roll can be. It is a sorry state when all they have is hip-hop, isn't it? Shame on us all for allowing that to happen.

Well the wait is just about over for fans of the NJ based straight-up hard rock band--MEAN VENUS.
Mixing has been completed for MEAN VENUS' upcoming 2nd album--CRAZY ASS AMERICAN--and has entered the mastering phase.
Album art is viewable @ the band's official site http://meanvenus.com.

According to lead singer, J: "The new album has really got something for everyone...
Just great straight-up hard rock with splashes of punk, psychedelia, metal, grunge, and reggae (just kidding).
It really has something for every kind of hard rock fan out there but each and every song
definitely has the signature MEAN VENUS sound which holds the whole work together".
